Updated 07/03/08 Performance Info at HOB

Here is the story thus far: We have been rehearsing with the fervor of a band with something to prove.  Given the nature of the House of Blues show and the guidelines that must be followed, we've assembled a set of songs we deeply believe in.

This FREE show is taking place in the House of Blues Courtyard and begins at 9 p.m.  There are three bands/artists performing that night.  To the best of our knowledge, we are the second band and our performance should begin at 10 p.m.

We strongly urge you to attend, as there are a number of songs you will most likely never see us perform with these arrangements ever again, or simply perform again, period.

Warren Oates never had to shill his performances.  Then again, there was only one Warren Oates.

Conjure Digital Distribution.

Hold on to your iPods, everyone: Conjure has been digitally delivered to iTunes and 13 other digital music services thus far (Bell Mobility, eMusic, Livewire Mobile, mTraks, Napster, Navio, Pure Tracks, Rhapsody, Rogers Wireless, Ruckus Network, Slacker, Sprint and T-Online) with around 90 more services in the coming weeks.

So, if you aren't an iPod aficionado, there will definitely be a digital service out there you favor which you can purchase individual songs from Conjure or the entire album if you wish, beginning this upcoming Tuesday, July 1.

Live video transmission.

Over at the Bleachers youtube channel, there are two new performances posted from our June 13, 2008 show at the Reed Whipple Studio Theater.  As you view these performances, keep in mind we performed for close to an hour on a stage bearing temperatures of 100+ degrees at all times.

Yes, the fruits of labor from an angry band produce under any conditions.

Conjure CD available now.

So, you live far away from Las Vegas, where you could conceivably come see us perform live and purchase a CD from us.

Yet, you are desperate for a copy of Conjure (or Suspicion and The Bleachers EP, for that matter) and it's just not available at your local record shop.

Visit our website and go to our store.  Find the CD you want, add it to your cart and pay securely through Paypal.  It's fast, easy and you'll feel better about yourself when you realize you've dealt directly with a band to obtain their music.

Armed, possibly dangerous.

This past week, we've been working diligently to present you a new look on our myspace page, with a new song (the second of two songs from Conjure entitled 'Skeleton'), new pictures and some live performances that were confiscated from the guilty parties.

Please check out all the new material there -- of course, as time permits.

Full Force

Here's what we've learned: Thursday, July 3, 2008 at approximately 10p.m., the Bleachers will be performing semi-acoustic for an undisclosed amount of time at the House of Blues in their courtyard.  Personally, I've never seen the courtyard, but I hear it's a damn fine place to perform.

There are some interesting stipulations regarding equipment we may bring to the performance with respect to the venue's wishes.  This just challenges us to be resourceful, while allowing us to present everyone with quite a different set list than expected.  There may be some songs we have not played in three years which are perfectly suited for us to perform at this show.

We strongly advise each and every one of you to attend.  All of us are very much looking forward to this performance.  We sincerely hope you will all be there to support us as we support you with our music.  Thank you.

07/03/08 Performance update.

Surely you have visited our myspace page of late (judging by the page views and plays) and you are aware of an upcoming performance by the Bleachers at the House of Blues in Las Vegas.

Unless you are one of the devoted, who attend every show and take the opportunity to chat with us afterwards, you would be unaware of the fact we will be performing semi-acoustic. I say semi -- not defined as the type of vehicle Sylvester Stallone drives in the film Over The Top, but rather defined as "partially" -- because it will be part of the Thursday night acoustic performances that are hosted by the omnipresent Michael Soli.  The best way it can be said is we will utilize some electric music equipment to a certain degree, yet remain largely acoustic.

What this means for us is an opportunity to perform some songs we normally would not have a chance to.  Translation: you must attend this show.  It could be some time before an opportunity to perform our songs in this light presents itself again.  We will have more details about this show as they are made available to us.

Conjure artwork.

For those of you who attended the show this past Friday at Reed Whipple Studio Theater, you may have noticed some artwork on the walls on either side of the stage.

Well, we were very fortunate to commission some new artwork from our friend Edmund Lam and produce a beautiful poster.

At the show, we received quite a few inquiries about it, which will lead us to make some commercial copies of the poster available at future shows.  The posters we displayed at the show were printed on canvas, which you can imagine isn't done in an inexpensive manner.  We want our intrepid followers to be able to purchase a 24" X 36" poster for $5.00, not what it cost us to make those canvas ones.  Whew.

Keep on the lookout at upcoming shows, as we may be able to have them for commercial consumption very soon.

We've uploaded 'Build An Army,' 'Zodiac,' 'Skeleton,' and 'Ice On The Equator' for your ears to enjoy on our myspace page thus far.

Here now, we present to you, 'Country House.'

06/13/08 Performance overview.

Last night, we performed at Reed Whipple Studio Theater.  It was a great opportunity for us to play in an intimate setting for everyone.

It was incredibly hot on stage (a trend at recent shows as you can see) as it easily approached 100-102 degrees with the lights burning us like fast food under heat lamps.  It made performing to our very exacting standards extremely challenging.

We did our absolute best under the circumstances and hopefully everyone especially enjoyed the last song of the night,  a solo performance of 'Gargoyle' by Joe.

Thank you all for attending, we will see you soon.

Ice On The Equator.

Once again, we wish to thank everyone who was in attendance at our show at E-String Bar & Grill this past Saturday night.  It was an extremely gratifying evening.

Right now, we'd love to present to you our latest song posted on our myspace page, 'Ice On The Equator.'

Album note: As soon as we finalized the arrangement on this song, we knew it was going to be the first song on Conjure.  Without a doubt, the opening of this song is exactly what we wanted people to hear the moment they listened to the album for the first time.

06/07/08 Performance overview.

What a night for us.  One of the first really hot days we've had (the temperature was peaking at a little over 100 degrees) turned the E-String Bar & Grill venue into a blast furnace.

Before our show, the air conditioning unit on the roof blew itself up, resulting in absolutely no relief in the main stage area.  There was debate from ownership about putting on a show with obscene temperatures in the venue, but in the end, we opted to rock rather than walk.

It was the best decision, in retrospect: We had a phenomenal, enthusiastic crowd supporting us (thank you all so much) and we had some visitors from one of the local newspapers writing things down during the show and taking pictures of us throughout.  What crazy anecdotes they are concocting with their words and pictures remain to be seen.  It's possible they're planning a kidnapping, with the photos going to news outlets showing our last known location, while the scribbled notes were really just details of a potential ransom note.

In case you were wondering...

Right now, in our current setlist, we play three brand new songs.  No, not Conjure-new.  Post-Conjure new songs.

This is what happens when you rehearse in quite a militant fashion: you end up constantly writing new material.

I would not be surprised if we're playing six new songs by the end of the summer at every show.

Upcoming performances.

In addition to the E-String Bar & Grill performance this Saturday, June 7 at 8 p.m., we also have a performance lined up for the following Friday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. over at Reed Whipple Studio Theater in Las Vegas.  For the Reed Whipple performance, we have the venerable Ethan Slaughter opening for us as well as Mike and Joey from the Hard Goodbye.  Both acts will be performing acoustic, then we will go on and perform in an absurdly loud electric way.

While those of you who elect to sit less than 15 feet from us might suffer temporary hearing problems as a result, all we can say to that is, "Well, it is rock music."
